Dear residents, we have put together emergency preparedness guidelines for the building where you live and for every household in Ra’anana.
We invite you to go through the post and implement what is your responsibility, and of course to remind the house committee or the company that manages your building regarding their responsibilities during an emergency.
What is the responsibility of the house committee and the building’s maintenance company?
✅ In high-rise buildings, the generator in the building must be verified, which backs up the electricity needed to operate the water pumps from the reservoirs in the building and enables water supply to all the residents of the building, even during a power outage.
✅ Inspection of high-quality diesel stock available for emergency generators.
✅ Check the tightness of the reservoir and make sure that it is indeed maintained from time to time in accordance with the recommended guidelines and standards.
✅ Clean and disinfect the reservoir in the building at least once a year, if it hasn’t happened recently, we recommend doing it now.
Emergency instructions for residents:
✅ According to the recommendation of the Water Authority: a stock of drinking water must be kept at home, in the amount of 4 liters per person per day, for three days, that is – 12 liters of water per person.
✅ If emergency tap water is used, it must be changed once a month. The water must be stored in closed and clean containers, and in a shady and cool place.
✅ Mineral water: must be replaced according to the expiration date.
✅ For hygiene needs: it is recommended to keep a stock of wet wipes, antibacterial liquid and bags
for garbage collection.
✅ Stock up on food that does not require refrigeration, such as cans.
✅ You should prepare the following means that are not based on electricity supply: a radio that is based on batteries, flashlights and lighting means that operate on batteries and portable chargers.
✅ Medicines and first aid kit.
